Monty

Here's Monty, my first tryout of doing a walk cycle, need to work a bit on the left leg as the ankle doesn't move just right yet, but I believe the timing is pretty much done. Worked out how camera's work too, always a bonus.

Stop Motion Puppets

Here is my first attempts of using a stop motion puppet, found them quite hard to use, need to be very careful with them, I believe that the head turn and the touching toes exercise went well, but I need to go over both exercises again as the head turns were a bit over dramatic. Also the touching toes needs a bit more work as not all of the joints move correctly.

Box Lifting

Here's my attempt of showing weight within an animation, still need to work on keeping everything the same size throughout the animation but I believe that I have made the animation a lot better between the two videos I have uploaded.

Life Drawing

Here are a few drawings which I have done at life drawing lessons, need to improve a bit but so far I'm happy with what I've drawn.

Sketch book

Here are a few things which I have drawn within my sketchbook so far; drawings are from both from life and imaginary.

Box Boy

Here is a quick animation I did of a box shaped person jumping, first time using flash. The software is pretty easy, just need to play around with it.

Hand Turn retry

When looking at my first attempt of the hand, I found that the animation did work but I had made the size of the fingers grow over the animation, therefore I went back and re-sized the hands to ensure that everything stays the same size throughout the whole animation.

Stop Motion Practise

I have found stop motion to be very difficult as it is a lot harder to fix any mistakes made, making the process a lot slower than both 2D and 3D. Although hard the finished product is very rewarding even if it is just a coin moving or a quickly made sculpture of a balloon falling to the ground. I believe that the first pendent worked very well but the second pendulum which should move like a clock pendulum was a bit glitchy like it was stuck, so I went back and played around with the frames and I believe that I've fixed the problem.
My first balloon animation turned out to be a complete disaster with timing not working with how a balloon should look while falling to the ground, it ended up looking more like it was being pushed and dragged violently by someone. Due to this I went back and tried the exercise again, but this time I did some research through watching how a balloon drops over and over again; I do believe that my second animation turned out a lot better and moves more to the way physics would want a balloon to move.

Hand turning

This is my first animation attempt through the program called 'Toon Boom'. The animation of the hand I believe is effective but I can improve by adding shadows and also adding in a bit more movement with the fingers as thay seem to not show any flex at all. I found that the program is a bit confusing but I believe I've got the basics down now.

Foxy

Meet foxy, the ball with a tail, I've had a lot of fun playing with this rig over the past week, its a very easy rig to play with allowing me to have full control over all of Foxy's movements. I am happy with the way I have animated his main body but his tail does still look a bit robotic, so I will have another go at just trying to animate the tail to bring a more organic look to the animation.

3D bouncing ball update

I decided to go and try out the bouncing ball again, finally after a few goes I believe that I got it working pretty well. The ball still seems to be twisting slightly through the bounce so that can be improved. I do feel like the overall movement is a lot more smoother than my other few attempts.

3D bouncing

Just finished my first try at creating a bouncing ball in Maya, I believe that the ball does have good squash and stretch but the ball itself does rotate a bit too fast, but overall I'm very proud of my first attempt.

Storyboarding

The first time trying out how to portray a story, the idea behind this task was to show two different types of movement with two different types of objects, I believe that my drawing skills need a bit more work in the way of showing slow movement but I believe that it is easily understood what's going on.
